The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services funded the creation of a national network of RCPIs, known as the RCPI National Network. The Network’s mission is to leverage our national presence and partnerships to deliver public safety training and technical assistance at the local level.
It is the Network’s focus to improve the quality of life in communities by delivering programs of the highest caliber that are national in scope and/or developed around local issues. The RCPI Network will accomplish this by:
• Delivering national training programs to local agencies through a seamless national network.
• Providing technical assistance at the local level to enhance agency capacity to deliver professional public safety services to the communities they serve.
• Identifying emerging public safety issues in conjunction with our national partners to develop training and technical assistance to address those issues and trends in a timely manner.
• Working with local partners to develop training and technical assistance customized for local needs.
• Serving as local resource centers, and points of contact,
throughout the Network for the collection, analysis, and distribution
of pertinent public safety information.
